School is out and summer is here! If you have avid a book reader like I do , I’m sure you’ll make endless library trips. You may also add on to your children’s home libraries; or have them read as a quiet activity when their energy needs a chill pill.
If you are trying to get your not so interested child into reading more, hopefully this print out will keep them motivated to read this summer.
I added sections for favorite characters and a rating section so children can express how the felt about what they read. This sheet can also serve as family dinner conversation or just conversation in general to promote reading comprehension skills. I personally like to use these to initiate conversations with my 7 year for reading comprehension purposes , and to get a feel of what books he’s currently into so I can suggest more like them.
You can also make copies for your mom friends to serve as book recommendations for their children based on what your child read and loved.
If you’re child is signed up for your local library’s 1000 Books Before Kindergarten or Summer Reading Programs, this is a great way for them to track what they read over the summer. The library provides sticker charts for each book read, but this helps your child log and remembers the titles.
I hope this make summer reading fun! If you choose to use or share them tag me on Instagram ! @lookwhatlovemade
